Hello, my name is Kara Terry and I am the person behind PetMatey of Lincolnshire, a small, friendly pet services business based in Lincoln.

I am originally from a small village near Wantage in Oxfordshire but relocated to Lincolnshire about seven years ago. I have had animals all of my life and for many years it was an ambition of mine to start up my own business centered on caring for animals. From an early age I was always surrounded by pets - dogs, horses, rabbits, guinea-pigs, fish to mention a few.

Since moving to Lincolnshire, meeting my husband and buying our own house, we
have Smudge our two year old Jack Russell terrier. Being a typical terrier she has
a huge personality and is fiercely loyal and protective although she has a
wonderful knack of only hearing you when she chooses too! It was
only natural that Smudge was present at our wedding day in
July 2006.

After leaving school and then college I enrolled at the University
of Plymouth, where I took a degree in Psychology with Law.
I enjoyed and took particular interest in the animal-based
modules focusing on animal behaviour.

After graduating, I worked in the 'corporate'
world for six years which was rewarding but
not something I could be truly enthusiastic
and passionate about.

Hence, PetMatey was born! So far I am
really enjoying my work and have made
many new animal friends. My main aim is to provide a personable, reliable
and professional pet care service which pet owners can truly depend
upon. I am insured and police checked as well as having references from
my previous employment. I am also a member of The National Association
of Pet-Sitters (NARP), the largest pet care organisation in the UK.
